Maths Department Intent
Key stage 3
OVERVIEW:
Who for: studied by all students.
Timings: three to four hours per week.
Sets: students are taught in ability sets after the first week of Year 7. We aim to put students in the set that will best suit their individual learning needs. This ensures students are in an environment that helps them to explore the subject and gain confidence in the concepts that we discover.
Equipment: students must have a GCSE scientific calculator, which is available to purchase through the college shop.
Support: there is always an opportunity for students to get help with their Maths studies from any of the teachers in the department. We run a Maths Drop-In session after college every Tuesday in B37.
